Most of our hikes are easy for the majority of visitors. If a tour is more demanding, the tour description says so.
Not for most of our tours, but it is recommended for some. If you’re unsure, contact us before booking.
Most of the places we visit are fairly easy to reach. In winter, expect snow, ice or strong wind. If you need special assistance, let us know before booking and we’ll be happy to find the best solution.
Glacier hikes and summit hikes are not suitable during pregnancy. Most of our other tours are – if you’re unsure, please ask your doctor before booking.

Zimno does not provide insurance for its customers, so we strongly recommend travel insurance that covers outdoor activities and mountain rescue.

Dress for the season, and remember that Icelandic weather is unpredictable and can change quickly.
As the name suggests, Iceland is a land of ice: summers are fairly mild and winters are cold. Check the weather forecast on vedur.is and travel conditions on safetravel.is before you arrive, and always bring an extra layer in case the weather changes suddenly.
Depending on the tour, we pick you up from your hotel or meet you at the starting point – each tour description shows which. Please be ready 15 minutes before your pickup time. The driver waits up to 10 minutes after the pickup time; after that, the tour counts as missed and is not refunded.
On most tours, a small day pack is all you need. On hiking and glacier tours that need more gear, we have extra space. If you need to bring more luggage, let us know in advance.
No, you don’t need a passport or ID on the tour.

You sleep in a mountain hut. During the hike we eat freeze-dried meals, and we finish with a proper meal at the end. All the details are in the tour description.
We always use modern, spacious vehicles suited to the tour.
We encourage you to enjoy Iceland’s clean air, but if you need to smoke, please do so in designated areas during breaks.
Safety comes first, and your guide makes the final call. If we cancel because of the weather, we let you know as early as possible – usually the day before – and you can choose a new date or a full refund.
We only run the Northern Lights tour when the forecast gives a good chance of seeing them. Nature can’t be guaranteed, so there is no refund or free rebooking if the lights don’t appear – but you can book another Northern Lights tour with a 30% discount.

Please ask your guide before flying a drone. Many protected areas, including national parks, require a permit.
